Ongoing interventions
The projects currently underway within SASTIPEN – the Roma Center for Health Policies are developed in line with the organization’s mission to promote equitable access to health services, social inclusion, and respect for the rights of people from vulnerable communities, especially Roma communities. These initiatives build on the experience gained through direct work with communities and are designed to respond to real needs identified in the field.
The interventions focus on areas such as community health, prevention and health education, anti-discrimination, training for health mediators and community workers, social research, and community development. The projects include integrated interventions, advocacy activities, and technical support for local authorities and partner organizations. Through these efforts, SASTIPEN aims to improve access to medical and social services, strengthen institutional capacity, and reduce inequalities, contributing to the development of public services that are more accessible, effective, and adapted to beneficiaries’ real needs.
The ARAKHEL project is a European initiative dedicated to preventing and combating gender-based and domestic violence against Roma women, one of the most vulnerable groups in Europe.
The project “Construction of a multifunctional center with sports and cultural facilities for children in Pipirig commune, Neamț County” is a complex community development intervention aimed at supporting children from vulnerable backgrounds and preventing poverty, social exclusion, and school dropout.
The project “Promoting Roma access to health services based on equal opportunities and non-discrimination” is a strategic initiative of the SASTIPEN Association aimed at reducing discrimination against Roma people in the medical system and ensuring equitable access to health services.
The ROCCAS 4 South-Muntenia project is a major strategic intervention in cancer prevention, dedicated to increasing access to colorectal cancer screening services among vulnerable populations in the region.
The project “Roma Forum Romania – Strengthening the National Roma Coalition for EU Values” is a strategic initiative to strengthen the largest national coalition of Roma and pro-Roma organizations in Romania, brought together within Roma Forum.
The project “Roma Influencers Network – Breaking the Circle of Early Marriages and Early Motherhood in Roma Communities” is a European initiative dedicated to preventing early marriages and early motherhood among Roma girls.
ROMAPLAT – Roma Platform for Civic Participation and Policy Dialogue is a European initiative dedicated to strengthening Roma civic participation and the role of civil society organizations in shaping and monitoring public policies on Roma inclusion.
RomInDis is a European initiative dedicated to improving access to health services for Roma people with physical disabilities, one of the most vulnerable social groups.
SASTIPE is a European initiative designed to improve Roma communities’ access to mental health services and reduce existing inequalities in this field.
