Projects implemented by SASTIPEN have consistently aimed to promote social inclusion and improve access for vulnerable people, especially Roma communities, to quality medical and social services. The interventions covered areas such as public health, education, employment, community development, anti-discrimination, and advocacy, and were built on real needs identified in communities. Through information campaigns, prevention programs, and screening initiatives, the organization facilitated access to medical services and raised awareness about the importance of prevention.
At the same time, SASTIPEN invested in human capital development by training health mediators, supporting young Roma through scholarship and personal development programs, and implementing educational, employment, and entrepreneurship programs. The projects also included discrimination monitoring and institutional dialogue, contributing to greater awareness among authorities and the promotion of equal opportunities. Through solid partnerships and solutions adapted to the local context, the organization generated lasting change, strengthening communities’ ability to participate actively in development processes and improve their own quality of life.
The program “Advocacy and Monitoring of Public Policies for Roma Social Inclusion” had a strategic impact in transforming community experience into concrete public policy proposals and strengthening SASTIPEN’s role as a relevant actor in institutional dialogue.
The program “Roma Leadership in Health – A generation of Roma professionals in healthcare” produced concrete and lasting results in increasing Roma representation in medical professions and reducing inequalities in the health system.
The “Integrated Community Service Centers” program generated significant results and impact in reducing medical-social exclusion and bringing public services closer to vulnerable communities.
The program “Health Education – Public health campaigns in Roma communities” generated important results in increasing access to prevention and reducing the barriers that limit vulnerable people’s use of medical services.
The program “Strengthening the Health Mediation Program for Roma Communities” generated essential results for improving access to health services and professionalizing one of the most important community interventions in Romania.
The program “Monitoring Roma access to public health services” had a major impact in documenting and combating discrimination in the healthcare system, helping transform an often ignored problem into a legitimate topic for public debate and institutional intervention.
