The “Integrated Community Service Centers” program generated significant results and impact in reducing medical-social exclusion and in bringing public services closer to vulnerable communities. Between 2008 and 2025, SASTIPEN developed 34 community centers nationwide, starting from the pilot model in Ferentari, and 8 of them were later taken over by local public authorities and continue to operate sustainably. These centers became local access points for medical, social, educational, and rights-orientation services, helping reduce administrative, geographic, and cultural barriers.
The direct impact is illustrated by the number of beneficiaries: more than 3,500 people were supported through the pilot center in Ferentari, more than 24,000 residents of rural communities benefited from free services through the “Community Resource Centers” project, more than 14,000 through the “Integrated services – an optimal approach for employment” project, and more than 22,000 through the “zefiR” project. In the 2020–2023 CCSI project alone, more than 1,620 people received integrated services and individualized support.
The program also produced institutional impact: it strengthened multidisciplinary teams, created local partnerships, mixed commissions, and local strategies, reinforced dialogue between communities and authorities, and demonstrated the viability of a replicable model. Through concrete and sustainable results, SASTIPEN turned a pilot model into a recognized good practice that has influenced the development of integrated community services at national level.
